I've been searching through my old files, trying to find something, some work, that is still left incomplete, or at least something that would break through my writer's block. I came across this piece that I wrote before, while having a Writer's block similar to the one I suffer from these days. I wanted to share it with you.
"Thoughts are jumping in my head, the trampoline is set and I feel lost.
Thoughts are running with no place to go. I don’t want to work. Yet I do.
I want to write but nothing is transformed into paper. Sea of words and sentences swirling in my head. But I am too lazy to actually pick up the pen or computer to write them.
This is it. I am lazy. I know my problem, but I don’t know the solution.
I need help because my mind is turning against me, and I can't control it.
I need help but there is no one there reaching for me.
I'm drowning in a sea of confusing thoughts. And none of them is reaching a shore. Neither I am.
I need help. Yet I am still too lazy to ask for it. Too lazy to go to someone. And people around me can’t reach me.
HA!. I want them to come to ME to help ME. Who would do that? It is simply stupid enough.
No one now is welling to help some one for simply the sake of helping. You need to ask for it first. And half of us are either too proud, Or simply lazy to ask.
We need help, but who is there to help us.
We need help, but each one of us is stuck in their problem, they can't even glance at anyone. They can't see anyone but themselves.
We need help but everyone is too lazy to help the other.
I'm even too lazy to go on with this piece. Let's go watch some TV, or surf online. As if they hold the answers to our entire problems.
They sure are helping us. But they are no problem solvers. Especially to the REAL problems we are facing.
On a second thought, our problems are not laziness or indifference now, we are beyond that.
Our problem is US. And we need help from ourselves.
But who is there to help."
I don't know why I felt this urge to share this with you. However, I hope that this piece would be able to help you break YOUR writer's block one day.
Take Care.
S.H. Zein.
P.S. As usual, if you have problems with my mistakes and style, Constructive criticism is always great. Thanks.

To Egypt
First, before I start talking about anything, I would like to send my condolences to the family of the journalist Magdy Mehna, The Great, Brave Journalist who died on Saturday February 9th 2008, after his fight with cancer. May Allah bliss your soul. He was a man who loved Egypt with all his heart, and in return all Egypt loved him. You will not be forgotten.
Secondly, Congratulations to all Egyptians on winning the African Cup. “The Pharaohs is writing modern history” is what the BBC said. “The Pharaohs' secured a record-breaking sixth title with a 1-0 win over Cameroon in the Accra final…The defending champions ensured the win when Mohamed Zidan forced an error from Cameroon captain Rigobert Song to play in Mohamed Aboutrika for the only goal of the game.” Source BBC
Egyptians felled the streets with joyous cries after the goal hit the net. It was an impossible dream to win Cameroon, but thanks to Hassan Shehata and the Egyptian champions, it became a reality.
Congratulations to all Egyptians, We are proud of our national soccer team.

Frustrated
As known, these days we have internet shortage in the Middle East. Some ship near Alexandria unintentionally; I still don’t know how, destroyed the main cables that provide the whole region with ADSL connection. That was nearly a week ago.
So, here I am, writing this blog entry, even though I still didn’t send the one before that, at 9:23 am (and that’s really early for me, lol). My internet connection is driving me crazy, I keep refreshing the Google main page at least five times before I get only the search bar, and no photo of the word Google at all. It frustrates me since they said that they would fix the problem, temporarily with the satellite or something like that. What satellite makes your download speed 932 bytes/sec. Let’s not forget, they also say that this problem will be fixed within 2 weeks, that’s in Middle Eastern talk means at least a year.
My mind is blank right now, I am very angry I can’t think of what can I write right now. I’ll complete the thousand words another time then.
Take care

Rise of the Dead
I know it’s been so long since I wrote in this blog. I am very sorry that it was left on hiatus for this long, but I promise from now on I will start writing more frequently.
Why all of a sudden is the interest of the blog again? A program on DWTV, The German television on the satellite that my brother is addicted to, had a show called In Focus, about the bloggers, and how much they influence people, also, that this is the way to voice your point of view to all the people around the world. So, I had an epiphany.
Not to mention that the book I am reading these days is, On Writing, for Stephen King of course, a book I recommend to everyone. In the book, King had this ritual, of writing a certain number of words per day; of course I am sure that most of the population of the earth already knows that. Since I want to be a writer so much, I decided to start with a thousand words a day. Hopefully I would keep my word. Those thousand words will differ from, fiction, nonfiction and Fan fiction; let’s not forget my obsession with a certain Backstreet Boy here.
So, after these reasons on why this blog has come to life, Let me talk a little about me. Since this is sure the first time you read about me or even read this blog to begin with.
My name is Shaimaa Zein, a hard name to spell if you don’t know Arabic. I come from the land of the Pharos, and yes I live in the past so sue meJ. I am from Egypt. 21 year old girl, a fresh graduate with English language and literature major, hence the writing obsession. No minor though, since our Egyptian Educational system is hard to comprehend, but let’s keep that story for another time.
I live with my parents, and I am proud of it. Traditions here in Egypt are totally different from the west when it comes to this. We, children either male or female, don’t leave our parents houses unless we work abroad or we get married, Of course since we are an eastern community, not many girls have the privilege of the first reason. But let’s not also talk about that now since it is a very long story as well.
With the re-opening of this blog, I have a lot of things that I need to do in the near future. Well, need is a big word, I want to do these stuff. They might be trivial to a lot of people, but I am looking for a lifestyle make over. I am working on losing weight these days. Been off track for a while now, but I will be back on track starting now. I need to work out, because I already don’t eat too much. Sitting down all day is the reason why I gain weight. So as well as working out, I would love to start Yoga, yes you read right stop laughing already. I am just not sure when will I join a class for Yoga but I will start looking for one that is near where I live.
I also want to learn the Guitar; I have a Spanish guitar that is sitting in my room collecting dust for two years now. If I learned the Guitar soon hopefully I would be able to record something one day and upload it for you to hear and tell me what you would think.
Enough babbling and let’s start something coherent for once. In the previous posts in the blog, you will find a short story that only my close friends read before, and two chapters of my famous, or infamous, Fan fiction, The Scent of Affection. You will find the rest of the chapters here http://absolutechaos.net/viewstory.php?sid=8464&warning=4 . The story isn’t finished yet, and it will be updated soon, so wish me luck. And send feedback as well, who doesn’t like feedback.
I know I didn’t reach 1000 word yet, but I made you bored as it is. So I will end this here. I hope I would read your comment about my writings soon. Take care.
S.H. Zein.
P.S. Thanks to all my friends, Noha, Islam, Sam, and my brother Ihab. They are the ones that keep me going, they are the ones that keep encouraging me to achieve my dreams. I don’t think I would be still alive if it weren’t for them.
P.P.S. I also want to thank Jocelyn for unintentionally giving me the idea to write my thoughts. You are also one of the reasons why I re-wrote here. Thanks, and keep writing girl.

FanFiction:Scent of Affection:Ch2
What the heck did I put myself into?
Too much information for me to understand, AND they STILL keep talking.
Oh yeah, I forgot to say, I figured that my patient is not only so much younger than I thought, but a backstreet boy as well. Yippee. I love the guys to death, but to find out that the guy you are suppose to see naked every day and don’t care, is your crush. It is too much.
“So you see it's just that we couldn't tell the people about us needing an aroma therapist. Imagine how many will be applying for the job." Brian, who is also "Thomas" with the familiar eyes, said laughing
“Oh! Yeah" Was the only answer I could come up with.
“And we choose you because you are young. You could make friends with him easily. Of course, this is Brian’s reason. For me, at least he wouldn’t doubt why you are really here. It’s just that he doesn’t like the idea that much" The one in the sunglasses, who I also figured that he is the one and only Kevin Richardson, told me. Two certificates and I got it because simply I am "young". What an encouragement.
“Oh I'm sorry Mr. Richardson; please don't tell me that he doesn’t like the idea. Any aromatherapy patient has to believe in the therapy in order for it to work. In a position like this it will mean that I failed with him.”
“Oh no, he will like it, trust me,” he said with a determined tone.
“So here we go” Brian said when we reached the room, then opened the door.
“Yo Nick…AJ, we want you to meet Miss Russell" Brian announced
“Hi” I said with an extended hand towards AJ.
“Wow” Then he was nudged by Howie,
"Oh sorry, nice to meet you” He said shaking my hand.
“Nice to meet you too"
Then the other hand belonged to Howie "Nice to have you on tour. Hope you like it with us" Always the Sweet D I see.
“Thanks”
“So, what are you doing on tour with us? You don't look like a musician or a dancer" Nick said. Hey mister, my hand is still in the air here. I expected anything but offensive. What did I do in my life that God would punish me like this?
“Miss Russell is an aroma-therapist for us on tour" Kevin said
“You shitting me" Nice answer Carter. -20 points for you
“Behave” Kevin answered with a “don’t mess with me look”
“Nice. I like that" That came from AJ. Always the charmer I guess. “We might need some relaxation every once a while”
“Oh yeah Nick, it's a nice idea" said Brian trying to convince him
So, here to me it looks like all of them know why I am here except my patient, he will like it my ass Mr. Richardson. The guy hates my guts. It shows from the way he looked at me.
“This thing is for gays, I ain’t one" Nick’s answer took me out of my thoughts
“I assure you Mr. Carter it’s not. Aromatherapy is just like any other therapy; with no chemicals in it. It's safer. It is simply an alternative medicine" I argued
“Who asked for your opinion anyway?” he looked my way and said with a nasty tone. Ok this is enough, I was about to say something, but thank goodness Kevin did first
“I said behave. How do you speak like this with a lady?" The only response he got from Nick was a pair of eyes rolling .Yet he completed "beside it's a done deal, Miss Russell is our aromatherapist, and she will be till the end of the tour, and you will be her patient". Nick looked up with surprised eyes.
“Just like the rest of us" Brian said looking at Kevin, trying not to blow their cover I guess
“Yeah…right…Just like the rest of us” Was Kevin’s only reply.
And I said to myself
OH GOD

A FanFiction:The Scent of Affection.Ch1
“Here I am, I can do this, yes Julie you can do this, you will get the job" I kept staring to the building and talking to myself. Some people were looking at me as if I'm crazy, but I didn’t care.
I have this big step ahead of me. That I was about to take. This could be my step either forward or backward.
“Oh god, help me" I prayed then took the stairs. I asked the receptionist in the hotel where was the conference room. She gave me the directions without even looking at me. How reassuring.
I still had this weird feeling. When I first saw the ad I was over the moon. With two certificates that approve how much of an aroma therapist I am. I thought I will get this job for sure, but when I saw the people applying for this job I thought my chances are zilch. I was the youngest in the room. People were staring at me as If I have two heads. Besides that, my fears where doubled because of what Karen (my sister and my only family) told me yesterday. Her words are still ringing in my ear. "Why would someone have a job interview in a hotel, why not at there home, they said the patient is an old man, I mean they should have the interview at a house not a hotel, something is fishy here"
Karen the over protective, over analyzing person she is, has to put fear in me. She cares about me as if she was Mom. Although she is only a year older. Yet she is older and I, the younger poor me, have to listen. She can do whatever she wants, and her excuse "she is older". Yeah, I know, weird way of thinking. But this is Karebear. I love her with all my heart, and if it wasn't for her .I wouldn’t be where I am now. Still she thinks of my as the “baby sister” .Her word not mine. I couldn’t ask for a better sister.
“Miss Julie Russell". The one calling my name took me out of my thoughts.
"Yes, that's me"
He smiled and asked me to come into the room for my interview.
As I got inside I found 3 faces looking at me, one of them is hiding under very big sunglasses. Yet, he looked familiar. I don’t know where I've seen him before. He looked different than the other two. In casual clothes, not suits like the others. I hate it when people wear sunglasses they could be looking at your boobs but you can't tell. Anyway one of the two in suits told me to have a seat. I gave my CV file to the bellboy and he in order gave it to the guy in sunglasses.
“I see you have two certificates, yet you don’t have that much experience Miss Russell”
“Yeah it's just that... I as you can see am a little younger than the other people applying, but I can work just as much as they can”
“Well the two certificates sure covers this up Mr. Scott” the other guy in the suit said.
“Yeah but how would you know"
“Mr. Scott these are from the greatest aromatherapy associations in the world. You can even call them and make sure they aren't fake" I answered
“She is right” the 1st guy in the suit said “I as an aroma therapist myself can make sure that these are from great trusted aromatherapy associations, if not the greatest”
“And you can even try me, sir, anything. If you want to” I said. OK, that did sound bad
The sunglasses guy looked at me ,or let's say that’s what I thought he did, then asked if I can please wait outside so they can have a word together. With a "sure" I left the room.
When the bellboy opened the door for me I found a pair of blue eyes staring at me. They also looked familiar. The face said "sorry".
“It’s OK" I answered. Then I heard from behind me " Come in Thomas, we need your opinion"
Now I'm waiting for them to decide to send me away. Still couldn’t remember when did I see those two faces before?
Mean while in the room
“She didn't recognize me” Said the guy named Thomas
“Yeah and she did learn pretty well. Although the problem of her being young and not experienced enough" The sunglasses guy answered
“Well, you did find something wrong in each one who came" he reasoned. "So I guess she is the best in all, and she might actually make friends with him"
“Yeah, still…”
“No buts or stills. At least he won't be suspicious when he sees her. She is the one" Then the guy in the suit interrupted "Well, from my opinion, he is right. She is the most one qualified for a job like that"
“And I also agree. With qualifications like that, I have to" the other in the suit said
“Well then she gets the job. What more can I say?!” The sunglasses guy said with a sigh.
“Miss Russell”
The same bellboy called my name again. I lifted my head up and answered “yes”
“The gentlemen would like to meet you again”
“Thanks” I stood up and went to the door again thinking to myself that this is weird. I heard behind me someone saying that this is it for today, and they will call the rest if they need them. This is getting weirder.
“Please, have a seat miss Russell"
“Thank you, sir” I sat down in the same chair. The guy name Thomas or so I recall started speaking
“Well miss Russell. We see that you are the most qualified one for this job. So congratulations you got your self a job"
“Oh! Really! Thanks...a lot. So when will I start, and can I have the address so I can visit the patient?" Oh my god, I was so excited
“Well…um…There are some changes from the advertisement"
“Sure what is it?” OK, could it get any weirder? Of course it could. Who was I to speak?
The guy in the glasses said "Well Miss Russell, you see the patient… is not old. Let’s say not that old. And…” Then he paused
“And…”
“Well he doesn't have an address…I mean not a specific one, at least right now"
“Huh, I will be treating a homeless or what?" I said with a laugh, a nervous one.
“Oh no, you got it wrong” Thomas said laughing "This one can't be homeless, trust me"
“Yeah you got it all wrong. You will be touring with us Miss Russell" Sunglasses guy said
“Touring…?”
“Why don't you come with us to meet your patient?, and we will tell you the whole story in the elevator"
TOLD YOU IT COULD GET WEIRDER
Feedback makes me happy, make my day people.
I have this big step ahead of me. That I was about to take. This could be my step either forward or backward.

Nick Carter's trip
Nick Carter's trip
in a public transportation in Egypt
"Damn rental car" He uttered after the car stopped somewhere in El-Abbassia square and wouldn't move. He glanced left and right, trying to find what to do. He was stuck in a foreign country with a foreign language. "Please God, anyone who speaks English. I'd do anything for some guy who speaks English" he prayed
He got out of the car, and started walking through the same way most people walked. Apparently there is some college around here. Most of the people around him were young and holding notebooks in their hands or wearing backpacks. However, they looked so different than American college students and more than them in number too.
"Bingo" he whispered to himself, he saw a young man holding a Shakespearean play in his hand. "He must be speaking English in order to read that" he reasoned. He approached the man trying to ask for directions
"I'm sorry mister, but I'm kinda lost and need directions to the City Stars mall" Nick asked nervously. What was weird though that the young man did not have any recognition in eyes of what he was talking about, it was like he spoke Martian. Suddenly a young miss approached the boy taking the play and the notebook from his hands claiming them as hers, or so Nick thought.
"I'm sorry miss, I'm lost and in need for directions to the City Stars mall". In a very weak accent she answered "we are going near there too, ride with us in a bus and we will…..um… show you where to go"
"Thanks miss. That is very nice of you" all of a sudden the boy hollered in an even weaker English scaring him "Welcome to Egypt". Nick simply nodded with a shocked expression on his face, patted his arm and said "Thank you man"
All of a sudden a loud holler came from far away. A guy who was standing very dangerously on the steps by the door of the bus kept shouting. What Nick realized is that some words were repeated, but he couldn’t understand them.
"Come, come. Ride this bus it will take you there" The girl kept pointing to the bus.
"Aren’t you coming?" He asked, fear was starting to rise in him.
"We will go with you, but we will go before City Stars. Sorry"
"Thanks anyway" He replied with a nervous smile
"Welcome. Come, come." She climbed the stairs of the bus, glanced around then stood up in the end of the isle.
"Isn’t it illegal to stand in a bus?" He asked. What took him by surprise is her laugh. It appeared so cynical. And what proved him right is her comment "Welcome to Egypt"
"Oh!" That was all he could utter.
He realized a girl sitting down. A frown on her face, looking up from her book every once in a while, throwing dirty glances at the man standing beside her chair. He was standing with his back to her, so he actually didn't see any of these glances. What caught Nick's attention more was that the man was about to sit down on her shoulder instead of leaning on the chair. She flinched. And Nick guessed that with only her flinch, the man realized that the thing behind him is actually a human being, not merely a chair. He stood properly after that. Then the girl went on reading her book again.
"Excuse me" came from behind him. He turned his head, the only thing he could turn in a situation like this, to the girl who gave him the directions.
"I will go now. Good luck" she said then started to squeeze herself with the man beside her to make a way so she could leave. Nick didn’t realize until now that the bus was now totally packed. Almost like a tuna can. No room even for air.
"But, how can I complete the way? I don’t know where to go" He asked nervously
"Don’t worry, who asks is never lost" She said with a smile, then squeezed some more and left. "Huh" His mind kept wondering "what did she mean?"
He realized now that he was standing in front of the girl he was observing before. He also realized that her book is actually an English novel.
Before he could ask her anything, the driver hit the brakes so hard he heard the sound of the wheels resistance on the street so loud. All the people in the bus was shaken like a cola drink. And suddenly he felt a shoulder stuck in his private area as well as a head in his stomach. He looked down at the source of that and realized that these belonged to the girl that stole his attention before. And suddenly he felt the pain, his eyes was nearly coming out of there sockets, and then came the scream.
"OH, GOOOOOD" He began gasping for air. The girl showed nervousness, then fear; she stood up saying sorry every second. She made him sit down in her chair, but after that she seemed as if she didn’t know what she could do more.
Luckily, no body was paying attention to him. All the people were looking out at the driver who was at first throwing a number of obscene words at the guy who nearly ran over his bus. Ironically enough, the guy's car was so small. People couldn’t see it from the bus. Moreover, the number of obscene turned to a fist fight between the two drivers. However, there was still no police in sight, or so wondered Nick after he recovered a little from his own "accident".
The girl beside him asked something in Arabic.
"I'm sorry. I can’t understand you."
"Are you OK?"
"Oh yeah…better, thanks" He looked up to her face.
"What can I do for you?" She asked, what caught his attention is that her English is pretty good. A little accent but barely noticeable.
"If it weren't for your hijab, I'd say you are an American as well" He commented smiling.
"Oh no. no…no…no, I'm Egyptian" She smiled blushing
"Why aren't we moving yet?" He asked looking around
"The driver is still fighting. Don’t worry, It is nearly over" She answered
"The police aren't here yet?" He asked astonished. The girl laughed the same cynical laugh like the girl who gave him directions
"The police don't come for theses things" She answered.
"That's why the people aren't doing anything about that…"He commented, more to himself than her.
"They are used to this" She completed his thought
"I see". The bus started moving again. But the driver's mood didn't change one bit. If not, it got worse.
"What are you doing here anyway?" She asked.
"Wanted to see the beauty of Egypt" He answered
"Oh, no…I didn’t mean here as in Egypt. I meant here as in this filthy bus"
"My rental car broke down. Some girl told me to take this bus; she even paid for my ticket." He answered "oh I was about to ask you, do you know how can I reach the City Stars mall?"
"I'll show you, don’t worry" She smiled; her smile calmed him down a little.
"I could really use your help around here. I easily get lost. And my friends get worried about me when I disappear." He said with a little laugh, almost a giggle.
She laughed then answered." Well I can be your guide in Egypt, though I don’t know much myself. But still, I owe you one after….well…you know" He looked at her confused for a while then recognition appeared in his eyes
"Hey, it wasn't your fault. It's OK. I'll live" He blushed but quickly recovered "but I could definitely need a friend here in Egypt"
"I can help with that" Then she extended her right hand "I'm Shaza" He shook her hand and replied "I'm Nick"
"Oh! It is really you then" He blushed and said "I guess you know me, huh?"
"Yeah" She blushed as well and answered nervously. "Welcome to Egypt" this time her tone was different from the girl. She actually meant it.
"CITY STARS" the man standing by the door hollered in extremely poor English.
"Come on, we reached our destination" And they both took off, not to mention squeezing to reach the door of the bus.
